The JL 2‑Door Aluminum Belly Skids — 3.6L V6 provide full underbody protection for JL Wrangler owners who demand maximum clearance, strength, and durability on technical terrain. This system shields the engine, transmission, transfer case, DEF tank, and fuel tank while reducing weight compared to factory steel components.
These skids are built from 1/4" thick 5052 aluminum, chosen for its superior formability and long‑term rigidity. Bolt heads are tucked up and out of the way wherever possible to reduce snag points and improve slide performance across rocks and ledges.
Removal of the factory gas tank skid is required and results in a 3/4" gain in ground clearance. The aluminum system weighs 104 lbs (or 110 lbs with the optional e‑torque skid), but the net weight gain is offset by removing the factory steel skid and other underbody components.
These skids are designed with compatibility in mind for popular aftermarket suspension systems—including Rock Krawler Long Arm kits with minimal modifications—larger axles, and multiple engine configurations such as the 6.4 Hemi.
Products are designed to fit vehicles with varying factory tolerances; minor hand‑fitting may be required. Bare aluminum may show surface imperfections from handling and fabrication—these are easily concealed with textured powder coat. Smooth finishes may require additional prep work. Lead times are estimates and may vary due to production realities. All Next Venture Motorsports products are laser cut, CNC formed, and hand‑welded in Colorado, USA.
