The JT Gladiator Aluminum Belly Skids — 3.6L V6 deliver advanced underbody protection for Gladiator owners who tackle demanding terrain, technical obstacles, and long trail days. Engineered to safeguard the engine, transmission, transfer case, and fuel tank, these skids replace vulnerable factory components with a stronger, lighter, and more thoughtfully designed system built for real off‑road use.

Full belly skids cover the largest footprint under your Gladiator, making material choice essential when weight matters. Steel skid systems can add as much as 150 lbs over factory components, while these aluminum skids net only a 10–20 lb increase thanks to the removal of 85 lbs of factory skid plate material during installation.

Product Details

These skids are built from 1/4" thick 5052 aluminum, chosen for its superior formability and strength compared to many other alloys. The design and shape of each skid plate determine long‑term rigidity, and these are engineered to maintain their structure even after repeated impacts.

Bolt heads are tucked up and out of the way wherever possible—visible on the rear crossmember and fuel tank skids—to reduce snag points and improve slide performance. Removal of the factory fuel tank skid is required, resulting in a 3/4" gain in ground clearance and shedding additional factory steel weight.

These skids are designed for compatibility with popular aftermarket suspension systems—including Rock Krawler Long Arm kits—larger axles, and multiple engine configurations. If you opt for the UHMW option, the JT 3.6 V6 UHMW kit weighs just 28 lbs.

Why Drivers Choose These Belly Skids

  • Full underbody protection for engine, transmission, transfer case, and fuel tank
  • 5052 aluminum construction for optimal strength and formability
  • Significant weight savings compared to steel skid systems
  • UHMW option for maximum slide performance and impact absorption
  • Improved ground clearance with removal of factory fuel tank skid
  • Compatible with popular long‑arm suspension systems and larger axles
  • Engineered bolt placement to reduce snag points

UHMW — Ultra High Molecular Weight Option

For the ultimate in slide performance and impact resistance, select the UHMW option. UHMW is a 3/8" thick black, cutting‑board‑like material that is more abrasion‑resistant than carbon steel while remaining lightweight. It distributes impacts, absorbs energy, and helps your Gladiator glide over obstacles rather than hang up on them thanks to its naturally slippery, self‑lubricating surface.

If selected, UHMW arrives pre‑installed on the bottom of the aluminum skids.

Products are designed to fit vehicles with varying factory tolerances; minor hand‑fitting may be required. Bare aluminum may show surface imperfections from handling and fabrication—these are easily concealed with textured powder coat. Smooth finishes may require additional prep work. Lead times are estimates and may vary due to production realities. All Next Venture Motorsports products are laser cut, CNC formed, and hand‑welded in Colorado, USA.
